National Poetry Day

In preparation for National Poetry Day, Year 5 Cedar have been exploring poetry through the theme of wonder.
The children began by discussing what wonder means to them and thinking about the things in the world that make them curious, amazed or inspired. They then transformed these ideas into their own poems, using a variety of poetic devices, such as similes, metaphors, personification and alliteration.
The children have shown fantastic creativity and imagination throughout the writing process and are very excited to share their finished poems on National Poetry Day!
