Specialist Resource Provision
"I really enjoyed visiting Chilmington Green and was amazed by everything the school has to offer. I'd visited several other schools, but none came close to the provision, facilities and opportunities available here. What impressed me most was seeing how the school adapts to meet the needs of individual children and how much thought goes into helping every child succeed. Most importantly, my daughter is genuinely happy here and loves coming to school. As a parent, that's the best reassurance I could ask for!"

What is the Chilmington Green Primary School Specialist Resource Provision (SRP)?
The SRP supports up to 16 children and is divided into three designated rooms: Hedgehogs, Squirrels, and Badgers. Children in the SRP all have an Education and Health Care Plan with Autism as their primary area of need.
The aim of our SRP is to equip children with self-regulation skills and emotional awareness, enabling them to thrive and learn independently in a mainstream environment alongside their peers. Our approach is tailored to each child’s unique needs, providing personalised support to help them succeed. The SRP is an integral part of the school community, including participation in after-school activities and clubs, just like any other child. We are committed to fostering the development of independence skills in our pupils, preparing them for a successful transition into adulthood.
Our approach is underpinned by the Principles of Nurture:-
- Children’s learning is understood developmentally
- The classroom offers a safe base
- The importance of nurture for the development of wellbeing
- Language is a vital means of communication
- All behaviour is communication
- The importance of transitions in children’s lives
