Hedgehogs – Dear Zoo 🦁

Our book of the week in Hedgehog Class was Dear Zoo, and the children engaged in a range of exciting, hands‑on activities linked to the story. They explored a jungle‑themed tuff tray with animal masks, and took part in an interactive Dear Zoo listening game where they had to guess which animal was hiding in the crate. Through this, the children developed their listening and attention skills.
We also explored language such as under, over, inside and on top using the animals and their crates, supporting the children’s understanding of these concepts. Throughout the week, the children learnt the Makaton signs for a range of exotic animals, helping them to build confidence around early communication.
