Oak Class

This week, Oak Class had a wonderful time celebrating Oakley Bear’s birthday! We immersed ourselves in all things celebration and enjoyed lots of exciting activities together.

The children used their mark-making and writing skills to create special cards for Oakley. They carefully placed them into envelopes and posted them in our class postbox. We also made birthday cakes in a variety of ways. The children mixed flour, water, oil and paint to create their own playdough, enjoying lots of squishing, squeezing and kneading as they worked. In the sandpit, they made birthday cakes and proudly added five candles because Oakley is turning five, just like some of the children in Reception!

Our mud kitchen was busy as children prepared delicious birthday food for Oakley’s party. They also worked together to create colourful paper chains to decorate the celebration and made beautiful leaf crowns fit for a party.

To finish our celebrations, we enjoyed party games, dancing with our friends from Yew Class, and sharing biscuits and crackers together. It was a fantastic week full of creativity, teamwork, communication and lots of fun!
