Year 4 outdoor learning fun

This week, Birch and Sycamore took their learning outdoors, applying their knowledge in a fun and engaging way.

On Friday, the children took part in a pop quiz to recall key knowledge from across the term’s learning:

  • Mathematics: identifying and comparing angles, solving word problems, and interpreting data in statistics
  • Reading: answering retrieval and inference questions based on Secrets of a Sun King
  • History: demonstrating understanding of the Ancient Egyptian civilisation, including learning about Tutankhamun’s tomb
  • Design and Technology: recognising and explaining simple and more complex mechanisms
  • Science: identifying components of a simple series circuit

For each correct answer, pupils were rewarded with the chance to launch a water balloon at a teacher—bringing plenty of excitement to their learning!

The children demonstrated strong knowledge recall, confidently applying what they had learned across the curriculum, alongside excellent behaviour and teamwork throughout the activity. 😊
