Building switches in Sycamore

In Science this week, Sycamore Class have been exploring electricity. The children worked collaboratively to construct simple series circuits and create their own paper clicker toggle switches.

They thoroughly enjoyed designing and testing their switches, showing excellent teamwork as they identified and corrected faults in their circuits and refined their designs. Through this activity, pupils developed their understanding of how switches open and close a circuit, and investigated which materials are conductors and insulators.

This hands-on learning enabled the children to apply their knowledge of electrical components, deepening their understanding of how circuits function in practical contexts.
