Holly Class had a fantastic week in DT, throwing themselves into building creative structures using struts and frames made from cocktail sticks and jelly sweets. The classroom buzzed with the energy of young engineers as they experimented with different shapes, tested stability, and refined their ideas; they quickly discovered that triangles offered the strongest support, while squares needed reinforcement. They carefully connected each joint and adjusted angles to stop their creations from wobbling or collapsing. Throughout the lesson they demonstrated our school values beautifully—being visionary as they sketched bold ideas and weren’t afraid to take risks with their structures. They were responsible by handling the cocktail sticks safely, sharing materials sensibly, and working collaboratively to ensure everyone stayed safe and included; their teamwork, creativity, and thoughtful approach shone through in every model they built, making this a truly inspiring week of hands‑on learning.
