Maths in the shade

Year 4 Sycamore enjoyed a purposeful maths lesson outdoors this morning, making the most of the calm, breezy environment while focusing on statistics!.

Pupils worked collaboratively in small groups to interpret and present discrete and continuous data using pictograms, bar charts and tables. They also developed their fluency in solving comparison, sum and difference problems using information presented in these graphs, deepening their understanding of how data can be analysed and used to draw conclusions.

It was wonderful to see such strong teamwork and mathematical discussion, with pupils confidently explaining their thinking and justifying their answers. A relaxed outdoor setting supported a highly engaged and meaningful learning experience.
