Year 4

Throughout the week, Birch used freeze frames to support their diary entry writing. This engaging approach helped the children develop a deeper understanding of characters and events, enabling them to include richer vocabulary, clearer descriptions, and thoughtful ideas in their writing.

By breaking chapters down into ‘bite-sized’ moments, pupils were able to organise their thoughts more effectively and focus on the key details needed for each paragraph. This supported them in developing well-structured writing and improving their use of sequencing and coherence.

It has been a very successful week of writing—well done, Birch! 📝😊
