🌟 Year 4 have had a brilliant start to the term! 🌟
Our pupils took part in exciting Ancient Egyptian workshops, bringing their History learning to life by exploring a civilisation beyond 1066. They developed their understanding of chronology, significant leaders, and historical interpretation as they learned about different pharaohs and life in Ancient Egypt.
Through hands‑on activities, children applied key design and technology skills by investigating ancient building structures using bamboo sticks, while also deepening their scientific understanding of materials and forces. Grinding grains to make flour linked to early civilisations, food production, and everyday life, and carving mummies encouraged careful observation and creativity.
To finish, the children used their writing and language skills to create their own cartouches using hieroglyphics, demonstrating an understanding of symbolic writing and communicating ideas in different forms.
A fantastic experience that supported curiosity, creativity, and historical enquiry – and truly brought our history topic to life! ✨
