What a wonderful week we’ve had in Saplings! Our learning has been inspired by the much-loved story Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See? 📚🐻
The children have thoroughly enjoyed exploring the story through a range of creative and hands-on experiences. They designed and created their own bear masks using different materials and mediums, helping to develop their creativity, fine motor skills, and confidence in expressing their ideas. During snack time, the children made delicious bear face snacks, carefully spreading toppings, selecting features, and talking about the different parts of the bear’s face.
As we shared the story throughout the week, the children had lots of opportunities to practise recalling and naming colours and animals, building their vocabulary and communication skills. Many children showed growing confidence in joining in with repeated phrases from the story and sharing their own ideas during group discussions.
This week has also been an exciting one as we have started transitioning into our new joint nursery room. The children have been busy exploring their new environment, meeting new friends and adults, and becoming familiar with new routines. It has been lovely to see them showing curiosity, resilience, and confidence as they embrace these changes and begin building new relationships.
We are incredibly proud of how well the children have adapted this week and are so excited for the next chapter in the journey of Early Birds Nursery! #earlybirds
