Beech Class – Writing in Expanded Form

Beech Class became place value detectives in Maths this week! Using digit cards, practical resources and lots of mathematical thinking, the children created 2-digit numbers and represented them in different ways. They worked carefully to partition numbers into tens and ones, using manipulatives to build the numbers before recording them as expanded number sentences.
Throughout the lesson, the children demonstrated our BRAVE values, showing Brilliance in their mathematical reasoning, Ambition when tackling new challenges and Responsibility when explaining and checking their thinking. We were so proud of the enthusiasm and confidence Beech Class showed as they explored place value through hands-on learning. 🌟
