Hazel class – material detectives 🕵️‍♀️

Year 1 Hazel Class have been enjoying their Science and DT learning about everyday materials and shelters! The children went on a materials hunt around the classroom, identifying and drawing objects made from wood, glass, metal and plastic. They then took their learning outdoors, using iPads to photograph different shelters around the school and discuss whether they were strong, sturdy and fit for purpose.

It was wonderful to see the children working collaboratively, sharing ideas and showing brave and ambitious thinking as they investigated the world around them. We are looking forward to using this knowledge later in the term when we design and build our own dens!
