Nursery – Cherry

Wahoo! The last week of term has been full of fun, learning and collaboration in Cherry Class! 🍒

The children have been developing their physical skills through a range of purposeful activities, helping to clean both inside and outside the classroom. They used large arm movements to brush, wipe and sweep, building their gross motor coordination, strength and control.

The children also enjoyed a pirate-themed week, using their imagination and creativity to colour and construct a pirate ship before engaging in an afternoon of pirate role play. Through this, they developed their communication and language skills, shared ideas with friends and took on different roles in their play.

We have spent lots of time outdoors on the field, using the parachute, playing ball games and running together. These activities supported the children’s physical development, including balance, coordination and spatial awareness, while encouraging teamwork and turn-taking.

It has been wonderful to see the children creating their own circle games and confidently leading games they have learned throughout the term. This has helped to strengthen their personal, social and emotional development, as they worked collaboratively, followed rules and built confidence in leading their peers.

We are so proud of everything the children have achieved this year. Have a fantastic summer holiday and enjoy the sunshine! ☀️
