Using our imagination 💭 Year 5

✍️ Year 5 put their impressive writing skills to the test this week in a lesson that celebrated all the techniques they have developed throughout the year.

Using their inference and visualisation skills, the children listened carefully to a descriptive extract and sketched the setting they imagined. They then heard the opening sentence of a story and used their creativity to craft their own narratives.

The pupils drew on a range of writing skills, including ambitious vocabulary, precise description, varied sentence structures and effective suspense. Each story took a unique direction, demonstrating the children’s imagination and confidence as writers. To engage their readers, every pupil included a cliffhanger ending, creating tension and leaving us wanting more!

🌟 We were incredibly impressed by the quality of writing, creativity and independence shown by Year 5. Fantastic work, everyone! 📚✨💭
