Visit to the Beaney museum

This term, Year 4 have been learning about Ancient Egypt. To bring their learning to life, they enjoyed an exciting visit to The Beaney Museum in Canterbury, where they took part in a range of fascinating Egyptian workshops.
During the day, the children learned about the mummification process by mummifying animals, chose a pharaoh and prepared him for burial, and explored how people lived in Ancient Egypt. They also had the opportunity to examine real and replica artefacts, discussing what these objects could tell us about life thousands of years ago.
The children were enthusiastic and engaged throughout the workshops, asking thoughtful questions and sharing their growing knowledge of this ancient civilisation. They also had time to explore the museum and discover its many interesting exhibits.
It was a fantastic day of hands-on learning and great fun, helping the children develop a deeper understanding of Ancient Egypt while creating lasting memories. We were very proud of their excellent behaviour and enthusiasm throughout the visit.
