This week we have been reading ‘Penguin on Holiday’, the children have been fascinated watching videos taken in Antarctica of penguins jumping from high heights! Our role play has turned into an ice-cream shop and the children have discussed their favourite flavours, served one another and charged one another (expensive summer prices)! We made our own penguin bananas which I hope were enjoyed at home. The children have used their gross motor skills and made big sea waves on big paper. We have discussed what different items we would take on holiday with us, linking in personal experiences to hot holidays and cooler holidays. The children were great at naming items that would help keep them safe in the sun. It’s been a cooler week and we have very much enjoyed ourselves! #earlybirds
