Birch is a ‘cool’ class ❄️

☀️This week we all felt the sun’s glorious power however Birch class didn’t give up on their learning and having fun. They had many things in place to keep them cool ❄️
The writing lessons consisted of short bursts of outdoor activities such as freeze frame and role play. Maths lessons took part in the shade. Science conductivity lessons took part outside as they tested natural materials. PE consisted of numerous hydration breaks and shade time and on Friday they had a quiz time with water play: they recalled all the topics they have learnt so far this term while throwing water bombs at the teacher of their choice.
The classroom had fans, pulled down blinds and calm music QR codes. Hats, sunscreen and plenty of water were part of the daily reminder. The children also had opportunities to take part in frequent ‘nap’ times to help them regulate their temperature and emotions.
An excellent demonstration of all our BRAVE values! Well done Birch 👏☺️
