Science in the sunshine

Year 4 Sycamore made the most of the beautiful sunshine today by taking their science learning outdoors. The children built their own electrical circuits and tested a range of everyday items to investigate which materials are conductors and which are insulators. They showed fantastic teamwork and curiosity throughout the session.
This activity links directly to our Year 4 science objectives, where pupils learn to identify common appliances that run on electricity, construct simple series circuits, recognise and name basic components (bulbs, wires, switches, buzzers, batteries), and predict and test whether materials will conduct electricity.
