Flying comets! ☄️

This week in Squirrels, part of our Inclusion Base, we have been reading The Comet. At the start of the book, the children had many questions about comets—what they are and what they do. This provided a valuable opportunity to follow their curiosity and develop their understanding of the world.

The children explored what comets are made of and where they come from. Using this new knowledge, they created their own informative fact files, demonstrating their understanding of key scientific ideas.

There was just one thing missing—seeing a comet for themselves! As travelling into space was not possible, the children designed and made their own fantastic comets here at Chilmington Green. After some creative arts and crafts, they had great fun watching their comets ‘fly’.
