Nursery – Cherry class

Ahoy me hearties! This week the children have read ‘Go go Pirate boat’ to the tune of the popular nursery rhyme ‘Row row row your boat’. They have been fascinated with the word change so we also changed words in our rhyme of the week ‘A sailor went to sea’. We used different intonation, volume and pitch when changing ‘sailor’ to octopus, pirate etc. The children have explored cleaning teeth and healthy eating through planning and drawing a pirates meal, brushing their teeth using tooth paste and discussing the foods they might cook on a ship. We have also tuned into our phonological awareness, listened to words and identified their initial sounds. Land ahoy, what a fab week! #earlybirds
