Active Maths in Year 2

Year 2 pupils had a valuable opportunity to develop their recall of multiplication facts through an engaging card-passing activity. Children practised using and applying their knowledge of the 2, 5 and 10 times tables by reading multiplication questions and responding quickly to their partners.

The activity provided purposeful repetition, supporting pupils in building fluency and confidence in recalling multiplication facts. Following this, the children completed short speed tests, demonstrating improved accuracy and rapid recall, in line with the Year 2 expectation to remember and use multiplication facts to solve problems.
