Year 4 Birch and Sycamore had a fantastic PE session this week, focusing on developing their basketball skills in line with the Key Stage 2 National Curriculum. Pupils practised dribbling, chest passes and bounce passes, working in pairs and small groups to improve their accuracy, control and consistency.
These activities reflect the Year 4 PE curriculum, where children are encouraged to use running, jumping, throwing and catching skills in isolation and in combination and to apply basic principles suitable for attacking and defending. They also developed their coordination, balance and teamwork, learning how to communicate effectively and support one another during games.
It was brilliant to see pupils growing in confidence, refining their techniques and demonstrating positive teamwork throughout the session.
