Maths in Sycamore

Year 4 Sycamore have been diving into angles this week, turning geometry into something wonderfully creative. Pupils explored a range of angles — including acute angles, right angles, obtuse angles and straight angles — and then used their knowledge to design their own imaginative pictures.
Each child created a unique piece of artwork filled with different angles, carefully identifying and labelling them to show their understanding. This hands‑on approach supports the maths curriculum focus on geometry, helping pupils recognise, classify and describe angles in real contexts while building confidence with mathematical vocabulary.
It was brilliant to see how confidently the children applied their learning and how much pride they took in their finished designs.
