Chinese calligraphy in Sycamore

As part of our Culture Week celebrations, Year 4 Sycamore have been exploring the rich traditions of China, with a special focus on the beautiful art of Chinese calligraphy.
The children researched how their own names could be represented using Chinese characters, learning about the history, symbolism, and techniques behind this ancient writing style. Using black ink and fine brushes, they practised the careful brushstrokes needed to create their characters and then painted their names with great concentration and creativity.
