This week, we have been so impressed with the children’s brilliant progress in Maths as we explored the concept of ‘taking away’. The children rose to the challenge with enthusiasm, using practical resources and their own ideas to solve simple subtraction problems. This supports their learning within Mathematics, as they begin to understand how quantities can be reduced and start to explain their thinking.
It has been wonderful to see such high levels of engagement and perseverance, with the children showing growing confidence and pride in their learning, linking closely to Personal, Social and Emotional Development (Managing Self ELG). A fantastic week of mathematical learning!
