Art in Birch

Birch took part in a fantastic art lesson that linked directly to the Year 4 Art and Design curriculum. The children explored the shapes and patterns found in Islamic art and learned how artists use geometric shapes to create repeating designs. They then applied this knowledge by creating their own artwork using 2D shapes, developing their understanding of symmetry and tessellation. The children also evaluated how their designs could convey different feelings and ideas. Well done, Birch 😊
