DT in Sycamore

🌟 Year 4 DT in Action – Printing with Purpose! 🌟

In Year 4 Sycamore, pupils explored how printing techniques can be used to create patterned textiles 🧵🎨

Using real cotton fabric and wooden printing blocks, children developed key Design & Technology skills by:

✅ Designing repeating patterns
✅ Selecting and using tools and materials safely
✅ Practising accuracy through careful pressing, aligning, and repeating prints
✅ Building technical knowledge about textiles and surface decoration

The classroom was bursting with colour and creativity as pupils produced their own unique fabric pieces, showing great control, creativity, and growing confidence in a textile technique used by designers and artists alike.

A fantastic example of learning that brings together design, making, and evaluation – and lots of fun along the way! 👏✨
