Basketball 🏀- Year 5

Year 5 have been thoroughly enjoying their PE unit on basketball. This week, they focused on developing key Year 5 skills such as precision and aim when shooting, building on their ability to apply accurate dribbling, controlled passing and effective footwork as expected in KS2 invasion games. They then applied these skills in small‑sided competitive games, demonstrating an increasing understanding of attacking and defending tactics, as well as how to move into space and work strategically as a team.

Their competitive spirit was brilliant to see, but even more impressive was the way they collaborated, communicated clearly and supported one another throughout the session—key aspects of the Year 5 PE curriculum’s focus on teamwork and tactical decision‑making. Well done, Elder Class! 🏀🏀
