The Birch classroom was bursting with colour and creativity as the children arrived dressed as their favourite characters for World Book Day. From racing legends like Lewis Hamilton to timeless heroes like Harry Potter, the costumes were fantastic and sparked lots of book‑talk across the room. The children showed strong Reading for Pleasure skills, enthusiastically sharing why they chose their characters, recommending books to their friends, and discussing the authors and stories that inspire them. It was wonderful to see them engaging so confidently with texts, expressing preferences, and making thoughtful links between the books they love and the characters they portrayed.
