Coordinates in Action! Ash Class – Year 3

Ash Class had a brilliant time taking their learning outdoors today. They explored the Equator and Prime Meridian, directly supporting the National Curriculum expectation to identify the position and significance of latitude, longitude, the Equator and the Prime/Greenwich Meridian. Using the outdoor grid to hunt for coordinates also met the requirement to use maps and apply grid references to build geographical understanding.

Back in the classroom, pupils mapped famous volcanoes, linking to the curriculum focus on understanding key aspects of physical geography, including volcanoes.
