Year 5 – life cycles and growing up!

This term, Year 5 have been exploring the human life cycle, deepening their scientific understanding of how our bodies grow and change from infancy through to adulthood, developing confidence in discussing these changes using appropriate vocabulary.

This week, the children focused specifically on the stages of childhood, examining how physical abilities, communication skills, and learning needs develop over time. To support their personal reflection, pupils brought in photographs of themselves at different ages and enjoyed sharing their memories and experiences with the class. This activity helped them recognise their own development, value their uniqueness, and build positive self‑awareness.
