Saplings- 1,2,3, Do the Dinosaur 🦖🦕

Saplings had a wonderful first week back in Nursery as they explored the exciting world of dinosaurs through story, play and investigation.  This week, the children enjoyed sharing the story ‘1,2,3, Do the Dinosaur’, helping them develop their listening and attention skills as well as joining in with repeated phrases and actions.  The class used their fine motor skills as they carefully cut up dinosaur spaghetti and dinosaur potatoes, helping to strengthen hand muscles needed for early writing. They also explored a light box to look inside dinosaur eggs, encouraging children to use curiosity, language for thinking, and early observational skills.  Together, the children discussed similarities and differences between dinosaurs, supporting the development of their communication and language and early understanding of the world.

Puzzles were very popular this week, with Saplings showing wonderful perseverance, problem‑solving, and the ability to work independently or collaboratively with a friend.

To finish off their dinosaur adventures, the children took on imaginative roles as dinosaurs and explorers, using pretend play to develop creativity, social interaction, and confidence.

A fantastic first week back, Saplings Class! 🌿🦕 #earlybirds
