Friction testing – Holly Year 3

In Science this week, Year 3 Holly Class explored friction through a hands-on investigation using ramps, cars, and a range of different materials. The children tested how surfaces such as carpet, sandpaper, and foil affected how far a car travelled, carefully measuring both the distance and the time it took. They worked brilliantly in teams—taking turns, recording results, and discussing their predictions and findings. It was fantastic to see everyone using scientific skills, thinking like real investigators, and supporting one another throughout the experiment!
